The Great Adventure Sao Vicente and Santo Antao 14 Days
Overview
For athletes and experienced practitioners. An intense hiking trail in which the company of a mountain guide is essential. One of the most exclusive experiences on the island of Santo Antao. For those who have the opportunity to spend more than a week on the island, it is highly recommended to make the great traversal of all the north coast from the city of Ponta do Sol to Tarrafal Monte Trigo. Apart from the possibility to travel around much of the island and discover different landscapes and coastal communities, this crossing offers an immersion in Cape Verdean culture. Meeting people, falling asleep under the sound of nature, sharing food with strangers, and exchanging life experiences is definitely a way to get to know and understand the Cape Verdean people better.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Airport (Sao Vicente island)
Transfer from the airport to your hotel in Mindelo.
You will be welcomed by our driver in the airport Cesaria Évora in Sao Vicente and take you to your hotel in Mindelo. The First night in the hotel.
Day 2
Sao Vicente: full-day Trip
In a day trip you see the best the Island of Sao Vicente has to offer. We visit the historical sites of the city of Mindelo and offer a spectacular tour around the island, taking in spectacular sights such as Verde and the beautiful Baía das Gatas, beach where annually runs the most famous music festival of the country. To enjoy an appetizing lunch of fresh fish we visit Calhau, a charming fishing village. You will be accompanied by one of our highly knowledgeable drivers on your journey who will provide the information and history on the area. Return to hotel. Dinner free.
Day 3
Sao Vicente / Santo Antao Island: Walking "Cova" - The Valley of Paul
Hop on a car in the port of Porto Novo and in less than 20 minutes you will be deep in the crater of the volcano Cova at 1800 meters altitude, where you start the descent to the majestic valley Paul accompanied by an expert guide to tell the history of the beauty surrounding you. Picnic during the walk. Transfer to Ponta do Sol, a city with colonial architecture, to spend the night. Dining in restaurant.

Day 4
Ponta do Sol - Fontaínhas - Cruzinha - Cha Igreja
Today we head down to Ribeira da Torre valley and we will stop in Xôxo place for the lunch under the trees. Than we keep walking into the valley and, at the end of the hike, we return to Ponta do Sol.

Day 5
Cha Igreja - Mocho - Cha de Pedras
After breakfast, transfer following the path of the mountains (stopping in the sights of Corda) to semi-desert altitude plateau Lagoa for the starting point of the hike, Lim Corvo. From there, a scenic trail (we cross the sugarcane crops and small rural hamlets) descends towards Joao Afonso, where we spend the night. Picnic along the route, dinner prepared by the inhabitants of the valley.

Day 6
Cha de Pedras - Lin d'Corvo - Espongeiro
After breakfast, transfer to the starting point of the hike in Cha de Igreja. Superb ride on cliffs along the sea; Cruzinha small fishing village and small rural hamlets, Corvo and Fontaínhas. Picnic along the way. Continue to Ponta do Sol, to spend the night. Dinner at the restaurant.

Day 7
Espongeiro - Ribeira da Torre - Ribeira Grande
After breakfast, transfer to the starting point of the hike in Cha de Igreja. Superb ride on cliffs along the sea; Cruzinha small fishing village and small rural hamlets, Corvo and Fontaínhas. Picnic along the way. Continue to Ponta do Sol, to spend the night. Dinner at the restaurant.

Ponta do Sol - Porto Novo - Tarrafal
After breakfast transfer to Porto Novo following the island's coastal road to Porto Novo port and return to Sao Vicente by morning ferry (10:00). Welcome to the port of Mindelo and transfer to the hotel. You are free to discovery of Mindelo, capital of Cape Verde culture. Possibility to enjoy the beach. Lunch and dinner free.
Day 9
Tarrafal - Monte Trigo - Tarrafal
After breakfast transfer to Porto Novo following the island's coastal road to Porto Novo port and return to Sao Vicente by morning ferry (10:00). Welcome to the port of Mindelo and transfer to the hotel. You are free to discovery of Mindelo, capital of Cape Verde culture. Possibility to enjoy the beach. Lunch and dinner free.
Day 10
Santo Antao - Sao Vicente Island
After breakfast transfer to Porto Novo following the island's coastal road to Porto Novo port and return to Sao Vicente by morning ferry (10:00).
